Before joining the program, I thought my only choice was the bush. Today, I patrol these same forests—and I’ve never felt more fulfilled to protect what I once hunted.
The skills I learned—tracking, monitoring, community outreach—gave me a new purpose. Now, my family and neighbors look up to me as a leader in conservation.
This initiative shows that true conservation goes hand-in-hand with social justice. Empowering former poachers uplifts whole communities and safeguards our wildlife heritage.
